Creamy, real banana ice cream studded with pieces of vanilla cookie and pockets of sweet whipped cream combine to make Banana Pudding Ice Cream. If you like banana pudding, you’ll go wild for this!

Banana Pudding Ice Cream
Banana pudding is one of those desserts that has legions of devoted fans across generations for very good reason. Everyone who taste tested today’s ice cream agrees that it tastes exactly like a frozen banana pudding!
The combination of white and brown sugar with very ripe bananas gives the finished ice cream a mildly butterscotch like flavor that is hard to stop eating. There’s no fake banana in it either.
It’s pure, real banana goodness through and through. The key to success is to choose very ripe bananas (think banana bread level ripeness) for your ice cream base. They have the most pronounced banana flavor!

The most popular question I get is whether it’s possible to make ice cream without a machine. The answer is YES. You can make ice cream without a machine. Find the full directions here!
And if banana ice cream dings your chimes, you’ll want to try making banana split ice cream; Creamy, freshly churned banana ice cream is swirled with crushed pineapple, maraschino cherries, peanuts, and chocolate chips to create this ice cream.
Bright, citrus ice cream with just a hint of banana makes my childhood favorite six-threes ice cream. Rich banana ice cream, decadent chocolate chunks, and crunchy walnuts create a tantalizing dessert you won’t soon forget. This delightful recipe for Chunky Monkey Ice Cream is the perfect indulgence.
And two ingredients are all you need to make the aptly named Peanut Butter Banana ice cream. It’s a healthy treat for kids of all ages!

Banana Ice Cream Recipe
To make this soon-to-be-favorite ice cream, you’ll need the following ingredients:
- milk
- ripe bananas
- light brown sugar
- white sugar
- kosher salt
- heavy cream
- vanilla extract
- vanilla wafers
- stabilized whipped cream
The stabilized whipped cream is so easy to make and super useful to have around! You’ll only need half of the whipped cream the recipe yields, so you can either make half a batch or make the full batch and use the second half to dollop on ice cream or cake.

Banana Pudding Ice Cream Recipe
Combine the milk, bananas, brown sugar, white sugar, salt, and vanilla in the blender. Puree until smooth. Add the heavy cream and pulse a few times to combine.
Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and process according to the manufacturer’s instructions. While the ice cream is churning, make the stabilized whipped cream. Break or roughly chop the vanilla wafers.

When the ice cream finishes churning, scoop about a third of it into a freezer safe container. Top with dollops of whipped cream and swirl lightly with a butter knife or the end of a spoon. Sprinkle with vanilla wafer pieces. Repeat the layers twice more. Freeze until ready to serve.

These are my favorite inexpensive containers for storing ice cream. They’re perfect for gifting (who doesn’t love homemade ice cream?) storage, re-using, etc. I write the flavors on the lids with a sharpie and it washes off with dish soap.
I have more ice cream scoops than I can keep track of at this point and I definitely play favorites. This ice cream scoop does the best job ever of cutting through firm ice cream and still delivers a pretty scoop. It gets bonus points for being one of the least expensive scoops I own as well.
